Author JK Rowling has announced that there will be a total of five Harry Potter spinoff films, starting with Fantastic Beats And Where To Find Them.
She broke the news to an audience of fans at a global event for the Warner Brothers film, which opens next month, before it was confirmed on Twitter.
Director David Yates also teased that the second movie in the follow-up series will be set in another global capital city, but wouldn't say which one.
Fantastic Beasts was already planned to be a trilogy, with the sequels scheduled for November, 2018 and November, 2020. The following two just-announced sequels will most likely be released in November, 2022 and November, 2024.
If that is the case, the fifth Fantastic Beasts film will hit cinemas a whopping 27 years after the first Harry Potter novel was released.
