Wellington suffers severe flooding post-quake

Police are asking people to stay where they are and avoid all non-essential travel due to severe flooding in Wellington.
Severe flooding and slips mean that the following roads are closed:
SH58 from Paremata to Haywards Interchange at SH2 
Greys Road 
Paekakariki Hill Road
SH2 between Ngauranga and Petone
SH1 between Mackays Crossing and Paremata
Metlink has warned that there are severe issues with travel north of Porirua, and "buses and trains can't operate due to flooding and slips".
Waiwhetu Stream in Hutt City is flooding, and residents should prepare to evacuate or evacuate now to friends or family or Walter Nash Stadium, the Wellington Region Emergency Management Office has warned.
Hutt City Council has warned that sewage is leaking into the Waiwhetu Stream at Hinemoa Street, as extreme rainfall has caused a sewage pumping station to overflow.
Warning signs have been put up advising the public against swimming or fishing from the stream.
