Jimmy Kimmel's Oscars security footage shows what happened to the envelope

Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel obtained security camera footage that revealed what really happened to the Best Picture envelope backstage.
But of course, pinning it on Guillermo was only one part of the story....

The late-night host went on to share his personal perspective on what really happened when the Academy Award for Best Picture was given to the wrong movie at the Oscars.

He described his first time hosting as "except for the end, it was a lot of fun."

Then he joked, "all of a sudden it turned into one of those Maury Povich paternity test shows. It was the weirdest TV finale since 'Lost.'"

Showing a clip of Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, co-stars in the classic movie "Bonnie and Clyde," presenting the winner for best picture, Jimmy said it looked like Beatty was confused so he handed the card to Dunaway. She announced the winner as "La La Land."

"In other words, Clyde threw Bonnie under the bus," he joked.

Meanwhile, Jimmy was explained he was sitting in the audience next to frenemy Matt Damon when he noticed the commotion happening on stage.

"We're sitting there and you kind of figure, well the host will go on stage and clear this up and then I remember, 'Oh I'm the host!'" he said.
