Married at First Sight contestant says he never applied for the show

It seem like not all the contestants were initially searching for love...

Xavier, one of the unsuccessful couples from Married At First Sight, revealed that producers approached him on the street to get him to be part of the show.

The 26-year-old, who was paired up with 29-year-old Simone, confessed to Pop Sugar that producers approached him on the street instead of the traditional way of applying for the show.

But he called getting approached was like a moment of fate, and didn't hesitate to jump at the opportunity.

"If I said no to it, then watched the show and it worked out really well for someone else I might’ve thought, that could’ve been me."

Similarly, contestant Clare said to OK Magazine that her partner Jono was also scouted, and probably had no interest in finding true love.

"He was scouted for the show. He didn’t actually apply, so his reasons for going on the show were probably a little different."

Two of the four Married at First Sight Australia couples from this season are still together;
Erin and Bryce - still together.
Mark and Christie - still together but still living in separate states.
Xavier and Simone - split at the end of the show.
Clare and Jono - split during the show, and Clare has now adopted another dog and become an Uber driver.
