Kiwi filmmaker Taika Waititi has made his first foray into Hollywood blockbusters with Thor: Ragnarok - and now the newly released teaser trailer for the film has set tongues wagging.
Set to Led Zeppelin's 'Immigrant Song', the trailer starts with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) well and truly defeated at the hands of the villainous Hela (Cate Blanchett); she has tied him in chains and removed his mighty hammer, leaving him stranded and powerless on the other side of the universe.
But to the keen-eyed Kiwi, that's not the only reason why everyone is talking about the much-anticipated new Thor film...
A close look at 0.14 seconds into the trailer - and you can spot the words 'Skux Life' written in graffiti on the wall.
The words 'Skux Life' refer to Taika Waititi's hit New Zealand film of 2016 'Hunt for the Wilderpeople', whose main character, Ricky Baker, often used that as his favourite phrase.
The Easter egg was discovered by Vanity Fair writer Joanna Robinson, who wrote on Twitter "If you're surprised by how funny the THOR trailer is I guess you've not seen a Taika Waititi film."
Thor: Ragnarok is released in New Zealand cinemas 26th October 2017.
