Rugby legend Richie McCaw took a bit of a tumble from his bike during the 5 Passes Tour.
The tour is a four-day cycling trek through the South Island through the Alpine Village of Hanmer Springs, Greymouth, and Arthur's Pass, circling back to Christchurch - supported by a team of over 20 crew members.
It sounds like a pretty stellar adventure with heaps of scenic landscapes, right?
The challenging terrain took an unexpected turn for Richie, though, as he suffered a nasty injury after making a close acquaintance with the pavement after falling off his bike.
McCaw's wife, Jemma, took to Instagram to share the aftermath of the tumble.
"I'm on wound cleaning after a nasty fall,"
After the cleaning thought, she took to searching for any broken ribs, and it looked PAINFUL!
"And trying to diagnose a broken rib."
Hopefully he has a speedy recovery ahead of him!
