The 'spamusement' park is under construction complete with spa bath rollercoasters
A city in Japan is on it's way to creating a place that is equal parts relaxing as it is exhilarating.
The mayor of Beppu (a city known for its hot springs), sent out a challenge on social media saying if this video gets to 1 million views, he'd build a 'spamusement' park in the city.
It's exactly what it sounds like... Half day spa half theme park!
In just under 7 days, the mayors 1 million view goal has been smashed with close to 2 million having viewed it... Which means the 'spamusement park' is full steam ahead!
According to RocketNews24, the mayor has released a statement saying they are unsure on a completion date, but are now in the process of accepting ideas for rides and attractions.
The response online has been largely positive, but some critics are curious to find out the plan for water spillage and dress codes.
See the initial video shared by the mayor (which gives an inside into what the park might look like) in the video above.
