Video of a toddler climbing a pool fence sparks fear in all parents

Wendy Atkinson shared a video of her two-year-old son Brodie, scaling a fence that is 1.45 meters tall.

The video was posted to highlight the dangers of some fences and encourages parents to always watch their children.

"The fact that my son is in a nappy really brings the issue home," Ms Atkinson told The Sunday Courier Mail.

Stephen Leahy from the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter told Sunrise "this kid scales that fence with absolute ease".

"If you look at this video, there are pavers or bricks right next to the gate and the kid could have easily climbed up on those and he hasn't, he's used the fence to do it."

Experts have suggested not to install a pool until your children are able to swim confidently and to put life jacket on children who can't sop they can remain afloat if they do happen to fall into a pool.
