A popular Kiwi kids yoghurt has been recalled across NZ due to 'tiny specs of black plastic'

Check if the batch numbers match the ones in your fridge.

There's been a recall on a popular yogurt product targeted at Kiwi kids, with two batches pulled from shelves because they "may contain plastic."

The Collective NZ issued the recall of their Suckies Strawbery flavour pouches on April 26, announcing some of them could contain "foreign matter".

According to a statement from MPI, “the issue came to light as a result of consumer complaints that the nozzle had broken and pieces of plastic had got into the yoghurt".

If you've been grabbing these probiotic yogurt pouches for your little ones, it's time to be extra careful. According to The Collective, the Strawberry packs in question have only been sold both in-store and online at Countdown/Woolworths.

The affected batches are:

  • Batch 32280 T2 (Best Before: April 30, 2024)
  • Batch 32380 T3 (Best Before: April 30, 2024)

If you spot these batches in your fridge, don't stress. The Collective says to dispose of them and reach out for a full refund.

Fans of the yoghurts have shared their disappointment, with one writing: ":( I have 2 boxes of them."

Another questioned: "Again?!? This same issue happened last year in October… why has it happened again?!"

Just six months ago, the Strawberry four-packs were recalled nationwide for the same issue - potentially containing black plastic.

So, if your kids are fans of these yogurt pouches, it's a good idea to check now and make sure they're not snacking on anything that could be unsafe.
