It's a double win for New Zealand's 17-year-old pop superstar Lorde!
Lorde, formally known as Ella Yelich-O'Connor from Auckland, won two out of her four nominated awards
, for best pop vocal performance of 'Royals' and song of the year for 'Royals'. She won the titles over the likes of Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake, but however lost record of the year to Daft Punk, and best pop vocal album to Bruno Mars.
Shocked by her win for 'Best Pop Vocal Performance'
, she nervously told the audience that it was the most unlikely award she had expected to get, but thanked all her fellow nominees before running off stage.
Her producer Joel Little joined her on stage for her second award, where they both thanked each other, their label and their respective families.
Ella joins the ranks of Kimbra
, Flight of the Conchords and Bret McKenzie as other New Zealand Grammy Award winners, and becomes New Zealand's first ever pop solo artist to win such an award.
And while she is the youngest New Zealand Grammy winner, she is the third youngest in the Award's history. LeAnn Rimes is the youngest person to win a Grammy, who was 14-years-old when she won her first two awards in 1997.
