Hearts have been heard breaking everywhere after Krickitt Carpenter announced the news that she was divorcing her husband Kim after 25 years of marriage and two children.
The couple were the ones who inspired the hugely successful romantic-drama 'The Vow' that starred Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams.
Without going into specific detail on the matter, Krickitt talked to newsite Inside Edition about how she learned her husband had been having an extramarital affair.
The couples story was a phenomenon, hence it being depicted in a movie. The pair married in 1993 in a dreamy candlelit ceremony when just a mere 10 weeks later, the newlyweds were involved in a serious crash.
The crash left Krickitt with life-threatening brain injuries and many broken bones. She was placed in a coma for 21 days.
When she awoke she had no recollection of her new husband. Instead of walking away, Kim stuck to his vows and worked slowly and patiently until Krickitt fell in love with him again.
The pair renewed their vows in 1996 and followed with the birth of their first child in 2000 followed by a second in 2003.
It's a truly tragic end to a brilliant love story.
