A fan has shared what was behind Lady Gaga's decision to take off her jacket on the street and hand it to her after the moment was snapped by paparazzi.
The picture shows the pop superstar left wearing just a crop top and trousers as gives over her leather jacket outside a restaurant in Malibu.
Speaking to the Today Show, 27-year-old Shannon McKee explained she had complimented the 'Born This Way' singer on her "badass" jacket, before sharing a story about her friend.
"I was like, 'Hey, you're Lady Gaga, right? My best friend back in high school was a huge fan of yours. And you're the reason he actually came out to me'," McKee explained.
"'And his first five tattoos are all dedicated to you and my brother just recently came out to me, too. So I just wanted to say thank you for being such an incredible ally'."
McKee said that while she was telling Gaga the story, the Grammy winner took off her jacket and said: "You loved my jacket so much. Here. It's yours. Put it on right now. You be badass with it now."
In an Instagram video titled 'The Most Loving Woman I've Ever Met', McKee said the "heartfelt" encounter made her "want to cry". She also uploaded a selfie showing off the studded, snakeskin decorated jacket, writing she had "have never been so blessed or thankful".
