2020 is still out to get us. Today Hilary Duff announced the highly anticipated Lizzie McGuire reboot had been called off, nearly two years after it was announced.
The show was meant to air on Disney+ but after the beginning of the table reads and initial shoots, the shows progress seemed to go downhill.
The original creator Terri Minsky left early on due to creative differences. Then Hilary Duff begged for the show to be moved to Hulu, so they didn't have to adhere to a PG format on Disney+ for now 30-year-old Lizzie.
I'd be doing a disservice to everyone by limiting the realities of a 30-year-old's journey to live under the ceiling of a PG rating.
Hilary confirmed the cancellation on her Instagram saying,
"I know the efforts and conversations have been everywhere trying to make a reboot work but, sadly & despite everyone's best efforts, it isn't going to happen," she writes.
