If you thought you couldn’t love Keanu Reeves more, try this on for size: He recently headed along to a fan's wedding and stayed for a couple of drinks.
The lucky groom, James Roadnight, met the ‘Matrix’ star on his wedding day at the bar of his hotel in Daventry and after the run-in, Keanu promised that he would come to the wedding reception.
James and bride Nikki were shocked when Keanu stuck to his promise and showed up on their big day and happily took photos with the couple.
The bride took to Twitter, sharing that they "had the most amazing weekend. It was absolutely magical!! He was such a genuinely kind guy and I'm still star-struck!”
His kindness didn’t stop there. The actor later stopped by The Fox and Hounds pub in Charwelton and posed for photos with customers who were left with a pretty awesome story to tell.
Danny Ricks, the bar owner, was taken back when the star came into his bar and took a seat.
He said, “It was bizarre. I had to do a double take when he walked in as I couldn’t quite believe my eyes. I thought ‘that guy looks quite a lot like Keanu Reeves.’
“He was just a down-to-earth guy and was really nice to everyone. Everything nice you would think about him was all true,” Danny added.
Of course, the staff “managed to stay professional until the end of his visit,” but they didn’t miss their opportunity to get a picture.
In case you’re curious what the star’s go-to pub meal is, apparently it’s quite healthy. According to Danny, Keanu ordered a Caesar salad and appetizer followed by a main course of falafel.
Oh, and he washed it all down with “quite a few double whiskies.”
“He was such a top bloke, absolutely lovely, and he certainly likes his whisky,” Danny joked.
Sounds like the most awesome experience. I’ll be patiently waiting for Keanu to come to NZ!
