The UK will undergo a ten-day mourning period starting today.
Since Queen Elizabeth II passed away in Scotland, this is what's happening in the ten days leading up to the funeral.
Day 1
The Queen's coffin will be moved to the ballroom at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The coffin is covered in the royal standard of Scotland and a wreath of flowers that will be changed daily. The staff members of the estate will be able to pay their respects.
The new king will be known as Charles III. He will be speaking with newly elected Prime Minister Liz Truss to address to the nation.
Gun salutes will be fired at Scotland's Edinburgh Castle and Hyde Park in London with one every 10 seconds for each year of Elizabeth's life.
Day 2
The coffin will be carried from the Balmoral ballroom to Holyrood, her residence in Scotland's capital, Edinburgh. Her official bagpipe player, the Piper to the Sovereign will be leading and walking ahead of the coffin.
The new King will say his oath and give a speech, and for the first time, this ceremony will be televised.
The king’s proclamation will be met with a 41-gun salute at Hyde Park fired by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London by the Honourable Artillery Company.
The royal band will then play the first verse of the national anthem. The national anthem's title has now been changed to "God Save the King". At this point, flags on public buildings can be raised to full staff.
DAY 3
King Charles III and Queen Consort go to Holyrood. Members of the royal family including the late Queen's children and grandchildren will join the procession from Holyrood to Edinburgh's St.Gile's Cathedral.
After a service at the Cathedral, the queen's coffin will rest for 24 hours where members of the public file past and pay their respects.
Day 4
The Queen's coffin will leave the Cathedral by car, then will be transferred to a royal train which will then make its way to London. The send-off will be with a rendition of the national anthem.
Day 5
Once they arrive at London's St. Pancras Station they will travel to Buckingham Palace by car.
Day 6
Her coffin will be taken from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster in a gun carriage procession which is a symbolic and momentous moment. Prince William, Harry and the other royal family members will walk along.
Once arrived in the hall, after a short service Queen Elizabeth will lie in state for the next five days with a continuous vigil in place.
There are preparations made for thousands of people to file past and pay their respects in a 24-hour operation interrupted only by a nightly 14 minute cleaning break.
Day 7 - 9
World leader will arrive to pay their respects at Westminster Hall. The new King will meet members of the royal family at Buckingham palace.
King Charles III will meet the prime minister for his first official weekly audience.
The Government will be putting finishing touches to their plans for the day of the funeral, as hundreds of thousands of mourners are expected to flock to the streets.
Day 10: The Queen's funeral
Employers will not be obligated to give staff a day off, though it will be a Day of National Mourning and a two-minute silence will be held across Britain.
Big Ben will strike just once to mark a national two-minute silence exactly at 11am (U.K Timing).
Queen Elizabeth's official send-of will be given at Westminster Abbey.
The national anthem will conclude the funeral service and her Majesty will be carried to her final resting place at Windsor.
