Mariah Carey says 'not yet' to listening to Christmas, but it's 'All I Want' to do

Don't even think about putting your trees up yet...

Mariah Carey is teasing us with the Christmas spirit, but just before we get too ahead of ourselves, she has kindly reminded us that it’s not time to start putting up the trees and singing the “I-I-I’s” just yet!

In a series of pics and videos posted to Twitter, Mariah made sure we were all aware that it's not quite time for her awesome holiday tune, first released in 1994.

“It’s almost time…” Mariah captioned the first of three tweets, teasing a dropped red robe in front of a gigantic bath.

She followed up with a second tweet seeming to add to the previous: “but…”

In the clip, Mariah has her back faced to the camera as she’s sitting in the tub. A pounding on the door along with a quick fade in and out as her iconic Christmas anthem plays in the background.

A clock ticks as Mariah lifts her finger, wagging no… This left us more than confused.

In her final of the three Tweets, we finally understood what she has been hinting at the whole time.

“Not yet,” Carey reminds us, as it’s still only October. Halloween hasn’t even begun to spook us yet and Christmas is already pushing its way back into our lives - I’m not complaining, but it does seem rather premature.

A voice appears, asking: “can we at least decorate the tree?” it sounds a lot like either Monroe or Moroccan, her 11-year-old twins.

"Not yet," she giggles, blowing a handful of bubbles at the camera.

Look, we understand the pain! ‘All I Want’ has a tight grip on my heart but I also accept that it’s too early to bring the fairy lights and wrapping paper out.
