Mariah Carey's 11yo daughter Monroe stuns by matching her mum's whistle tone in sweet Xmas duet

“This is my baby girl. Eleven years ago, I got the greatest gift.”

Mariah Carey was joined for the sweetest festive duet with her 11-year-old daughter Monroe, who is definitely following in her mum’s musical footsteps.

The pop star invited the pre-teen to perform with her at her ‘Merry Christmas to All’ show in Toronto, where they sang ‘Away in a Manger’.

Mariah introduced Roe to the stage saying: “This is my baby girl, here. Eleven years ago, I got the greatest gift.”

“You know what, I don’t have birthdays, but their birthing day was the greatest gift ever. This is our first duet.”

The song opened with Mariah’s iconic whistle-tone notes before the mother/ daughter duo took turns soloing the verses.

It’s safe to say that little Roe gets her pipes from her mum, but we had no idea she would be this good at just 11 years old.

Of course, Monroe has already performed on stage with Mariah. She and her brother used to sing 'Always Be My Baby' with Mariah when they were kids as part of her #1 to ‘Infinity Las Vegas’ residency and at a few more performances back in 2017 and 2018.

In other Mariah news, the singer has revealed that she has a number of projects in the pipeline, including a "themed album".

Mariah has revealed she's been working on lots of music, including brand new tunes for what looks set to be either a "scripted series or documentary".

Speaking on the 'Rolling Stone Music Now' podcast, she spilled: "It's about three or four different things. One is a project that I'm almost finished with that I was doing some background vocal tweaks on. One is (new) songs that could be for the scripted series or could be for a documentary. And then, there's a themed album.

We can’t wait to see more of what is to come from Mariah in 2023, who knows maybe we’ll see more future duets from the mother/daughter duo soon - I sure hope so!
