Now it's not the 'relaunch' as such that has people up in arms, more the copious amounts of plastic surgery it seems he has undergone...
The beloved original Barney hit screens in 1992 as a person dressed in a giant purple dinosaur suit.
This redesign though is driven by a sleek CGI interpretation of the dino.
Along with the rebooted show in 2024, Mattel has announced that we can also expect a long list of new Barny content like movies, YouTube content, music, books, clothing, and more!
People across social media have not been happy with these changes though...
Mattel's chief franchise officer and global head of consumer products, Josh Silverman, has said: “Barney’s message of love and kindness has stood the test of time,”
“We will tap into the nostalgia of the generations who grew up with Barney, now parents themselves, and introduce the iconic purple dinosaur to a new generation of kids and families around the world across content, products, and experiences.”
