Kiwi legend Neil Finn makes debut appearance in 'Bluey' as a doctor dog

Finn joins a long list of celebrities who have guest-starred in the beloved cartoon.

Kiwi music legend Neil Finn has made his debut appearance in the Australian kid's cartoon series Bluey.

In the show Finn plays a doctor Dad visits at the end of the episode.

The episode titled “Exercise” seemingly ends on the focus of parents keeping active by playing with their children - In Bluey’s case joining in on Dad’s backyard workout and recruiting his younger sibling Bingo.

Finn has one line at the end of the episode. “120 over 80, excellent,” the doctor (Finn) says, adding: “Gotta say, Bandit, you’re in great shape.”

Finn joins a long list of celebrities who have guest-starred in the beloved cartoon, including Lin-Manuel Miranda who had a hilarious appearance as a talking horse named Major Tom in the third season.

Speaking to The Guardian Australia Miranda said: “The show we watched the most during the pandemic was Bluey. It is the only kid's show that the whole family can be hysterically laughing at. But I wouldn’t dare guest star on it. You need to be Australian to be on that show.”

Little did he know, he would feature not long after.

Steve Irwin’s son, conservationist and zookeeper Robert Irwin, also made his feature as Alfie the teenage dingo.

As excited as we are, the episode hasn’t aired in NZ yet, so we’ll be keeping an eager eye out for when it does!
