For all the millenials out there, Spy Kids is back!

Robert Rodriquez's iconic original 2001 Spy Kids where the children of the super spies, follow their parents' footsteps when the parents are kidnapped are getting a reboot with a whole new generation of secret agents.

There have been three sequels that have been reeleased since the first movie: 2002's 'Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams', 2003's 'Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over' and 2011's 'Spy Kids: All the Time in the World'.

The reboot is being released after over a year since the the last installment, bringing back the original theme of the iconic sibling spies in their iconic black jumsputs and sunglasses, saving their parents but this time with a new family.

Netflix wrote on the description box:

"Robert Rodriguez reboots the beloved Spy Kids franchise, inspiring a new generation of young heroes and taking the spy game to the next level.

When the children of the world’s greatest secret agents unwittingly help a powerful Game Developer unleash a computer virus that gives him control of all technology, they must become spies themselves to save their parents and the world"

The mum and dad are now played by Shazam!'s Zachary Levi and Someone Great's Gina Rodriguez, while the kids are Everly Carganilla and Connor Esterson.

When talking about making 'Spy Kids' films, the filmmaker Robert Rodriquez said he'd like to keep making them "forever".

"I’ve just heard from so many families how much they’ve enjoyed these films over the course of their lives. And now a lot of kids who enjoyed the first films as children are parents themselves and enjoy sharing them with their kids," Robert said.

"And personally, this series was based on my growing up in a family of 10 kids with an FBI special-agent uncle. These films were created by my family and me so, in a way, this is our James Bond series of films. We would just love to make them forever. They're empowering for kids, and a bonding experience for families," they added.

Spy Kids will be released exclusively on Netflix on September 22 this year.
