The Department of Internal Affairs has revealed New Zealand's top baby names of 2022.
Every year, the Registrar-General, Jeff Montgomery, shares the most common baby names in New Zealand from data gathered from SmartStart, a website that provides new and expectant Kiwi parents with step-by-step information and support to help them access the right services for them and their babies.
18,041 different first names were given to a total of 59,711 babies that were registered in 2022.
Oliver remains the country's most popular boy name for the 10th year in a row, Isla took out the top spot for girls, and Riley proved to be the most popular gender-neutral name.
