Biscoff hot cross buns are going super viral and have dropped in NZ supermarkets

Racing to grab a few bags.

I'd chow down on any hot cross bun, but these ones doing the viral rounds on TikTok? They might just become all I eat until the end of April.

Just when you thought the easter treat couldn't get any better, someone's had the brilliant idea to pump them full of Biscoff spread. They're already sold out online (for now) but are available in four-packs at Woolworths/Countdown if you can get the family's Easter hunting practice in early.

Tiktoker @bynessa sent the buns viral on TikTok, with her video of the oozy Biscoff filling, attracting over two million views and hundreds of thousands of likes.

Commenters are saying they need to get the buns in their trolleys ASAP, but a few Biscoff haters are letting their opinions be known.

“I need these in my life,” one person wrote.

“OMG I'M GONNA GET THIS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING,” said another.

“They're vegan friendly too which is AMAZING,” a third added. “I'll be eating these every day.”

“BISCOFF IS NOT THAT GOOD,” one more claimed. “STOP MAKING EVERYTHING BISCOFF.”

Some lucky shoppers who have already tried them pointed out that the Biscoff ratio differs from bun to bun, but that could easily be an excuse to grab heaps of them so you're sorted either way.

Of course, as others pointed out, you can also buy Biscoff spread and lather it on your own hot cross buns, which will be exactly what I’m doing if the pre-filled ones stay sold out.

The start of this year has been an absolutely beautiful time for Kiwi food. Just last week alone, McDonald's started selling Happy Meals for adults, and Tip Top brought back the Grapefruit & Lemon Fruju.

So, self-control has well and truly been tested and we’re not even two full months into 2024.
