For the one in 50 Kiwis who have coeliac disease or gluten intolerance, your stomach probably turns itself into shapes when you consume Arnott's Shapes... Well, not anymore! Those classic party snacks can now be consumed by all, without the gluten fears!

Arnott's has announced they will be releasing Barbecue Gluten Free Shapes and Gluten Free Jatz crackers to Kiwi supermarkets, set to pop up in late May.

Endorsed by Coeliac New Zealand, the new additions to the range are made with a gluten-free flour blend, consisting of maize, tapioca, rice, sorghum, and soy.

The snacks are the first two savouries in the Arnott's range to get a gluten-free edition. Other gluten-free products include Tim Tams, Scotch Fingers, Shortbread Creams, Tiny Tedy biscuits and Mint Slice.

Fans were stoked with the news online, with many talking about their excitement, and others hoping that the Shapes range will expand later to other popular flavours, like Chicken Crimpy.

"I can’t with how happy this makes me. First Tim Tams, now these," wrote one excited fan.

Marketing Manager for Arnott's, Marco Maiese, said of its upcoming release: "Bringing the delicious taste and quality of Arnott's products to gluten-free consumers is a priority for our business.

"We are convinced that the Gluten Free Jatz and Gluten Free Barbecue Shapes are the best tasting savoury gluten-free snacks on the market."

It's a bold claim, but Kiwis will only know for certain about the taste when the products arrive in Kiwi stores in late May.
