'It's awesome': Dunedin music shop owner stoked at Pink's response to her 'welcome' poster

"It’s not often celebrities come and spend time down here."

Pink has arrived in Dunedin ahead of her ‘Carnival Tour’ show at Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium tonight—and she’s been a busy chick already!

Posting a carousel of her adventures around the city, she wrote simply: “Dunedin 🤘🏽.”

With pictures of her roaming the streets, stopping by a second-hand store, and enjoying an outing with her family, it seems Pink is making the most of her short trip in the South Island.

It seems she might have been doing the rounds after hours, as Irene Hundleby from Relics Music store was gutted to miss seeing Pink in the flesh.

Irene and her husband Dave James made a poster for their storefront welcoming the ‘So What’ singer back to our beautiful country and Pink defintely felt their love sharing a snap of the window.

“Welcome back to Ōtepoti Pink + whānau, crew, and friends,” the sign read.

“It's awesome... Dunedin is at the bottom of New Zealand, and it’s not often celebrities come and spend time down here,” Irene said. “[Pink] bringing her great vibes and high energy to 37,000 people is just what we need.”

With her poster and an ad in the local newspaper about Pink's return, Irene hopes to spark excitement within the community and is gearing up for an epic night at Forsyth Barr with her close friends and mega-fan sister.

Who knows, maybe a visit to the shop before jetting off to Auckland’s Eden Park is still on the cards?

Pink also shared a pic of MO Cuts, but after checking in with the team there, it seems she didn’t stop in to get a fresh cut ahead of tonight’s show.

Stopping in at a local dairy, we’re all curious to know if she picked up a few of those Pinky and Perky Nana choccy bars she posted.

“Hope you tried the Pinky bar!! 🙌🤣,” one fan wrote.

Others shared their excitement welcoming Pink to New Zealand, with one writing: “Welcome to Dunners @pink ❤️ love having you here. Thanks for coming all the way South. Xx

“Yay, welcome pink! We are blessed to have you here ❤️,” said another.

Another played on the Kiwi accent, writing: “Welcome to New Zuland!!”

If you’re headed to the show tonight, we’ve got all the info you need to know to make your trip to the stadium as smooth as possible, plus where you can get all the sweet merch and Pink’s expected setlist.
