It’s Gary’s last day!
Today we’ve celebrated the man the myth the Kiwi radio legend. After 18 years here at More FM Gary has wrapped up in style.
As we say goodbye to one of the greatest, we’ve compiled a whole bunch of Gary’s best moments during his time entertaining all of us daily.
Gary has been an integral part of the breakfast show and contributed to what it has become today as he passes the baton over to Paul Ego - those are some big shoes to fill but we’re sure he’s got it sorted.
In his last moments, on-air Gary wanted to thank you all for the love and support you have shown towards not only More FM but to him: “The people in our club are very special.”
“They’ve been with us for many years. Our Listeners are very loyal and that’s why I chose this station,” he added.
Many Breakfast Club members tuned in to Gary’s last morning on-air sending in messages wishing him all the best.
“We’ve had the best of audiences. You have been the best possible audience I’ve had the pleasure of broadcasting to.”
Arlene said: “We will miss listening to you in the mornings. All the best for his new adventure”
“Bye Gazza. Have loved your wit and humour over the years,” Lisa wrote with love.
Neno added: All the best Gary!! Has been a pleasure listening to you for all these years.
Nicola couldn’t have said it any better: “You’re a legend, Gary! Will miss you in the mornings. Best wishes for the next chapter”
Gary said goodbye the same way he said hello to the show by taking a chopper and of course, he did it in style - check out those sunnies!
