Being around dust might be making us fatter according to new study

Could dust be to blame for the obesity epidemic?

When exposed to dust, fat cells in mice were more likely to divide - creating more fat cells - as well as reaching maturity more quickly, accumulating more fat in the process.

The dust used in the study was collected from 11 different homes - only one set of dust having no effect.

So if this research is anything to go by, just by being at home around dust might not be good for us. The researchers do say more research needs to be done before drawing a final conclusion.

Might be time to get the dust buster out!
