A recent study from Florida State University has found that women are much happier when they are in relationships with someone less attractive than themselves.
The study looked at over 100 newly-wed couples over a few months and monitored their desire to stay sexy for their partner.
The results showed that men who felt they were 'punching above their weight', put more effort into pleasing their wives and maintaining their 'sexiness'.
They also found that women in those kinds of relationships were far less likely to go on potentially harmful crash diets and spent less time fretting over their appearance.
“The results reveal that having a physically attractive husband may have negative consequences for wives, especially if those wives are not particularly attractive.”
For those men who were more attractive than their wives, the study found that “They didn’t seem to be quite as motivated to help out their wives when they were more attractive than their wives.”
Judging by this study there might be something in the dad-bod after all!
