Bad news for those who are already getting right into the Christmas spirit - listening to too much Christmas music might be bad for your health!
"Music goes right to our emotions immediately and it bypasses rationality. Christmas music is likely to irritate people if it’s played too loudly and too early." said psychologist Linda Blair.
"It might make us feel that we’re trapped – it’s a reminder that we have to buy presents, cater for people, organise celebrations."
She went on to add that Christmas music might also have an extra impact on those who work in retail environments.
"People working in the shops at Christmas have to tune out Christmas music because if they don’t, it really does stop you from being able to focus on anything else."
"You’re simply spending all of your energy trying not to hear what you’re hearing."
So even though it might be the 'season to be jolly', maybe think about your neighbours before you start blaring 'All I Want For Christmas'.
