Sports sneakers these days all tend to have the white foam bottom. It helps you get that extra spring in your step when out for a walk or run, and a bit of bounce when doing your workouts.
After a few wears though, you will no doubt notice a few creases that appear and they can make your shoes feel like they look a little worn.
Reddit user PartyxDirtyDan shared a before-and-after photo of his sneakers and revealed that he used a blowdryer on the foam of his shoes. The difference is amazing: In the before shot, the shoes look pretty worn; in the after, the foam is super-smooth and looks brand new.
To replicate the hack, PartyxDirtyDan says you need to heat spots of the shoe with a hot hair dryer for about a minute at a time before moving on to another section. “Switch off on the areas you work on to make sure you don’t melt the glue on the outside and upper,” he writes in the thread on r/Sneakers. “I just did a few rounds on each spot and it turned out great.”
