If you've ever dreamed of the soft touch of NZ's Director General of Health - then you probably won't get any softer than this limited edition Dr Bloomfield rug.
Auckland rug maker 'Tuftee' has racked up more than $250 in bids for her hand-tufted Dr Ashley Bloomfield mug on a rug.
Featuring the face of Aotearoa's iconic 1pm press conferences, the rug measures 52cm by 55cm, and can be either hung "on the wall" or "used as a floor rug" when the right backing is applied.
The hand-tufter explains in her Trade Me listing that she was inspired by her followers to spend three days creating the one-of-a-kind artwork.
"I wanted to try tufting some portraits and put it out to my Insta followers to ask who they’d like to see tufted, and Ashley was one of them!"
It's not the first time Dr Bloomfield has been immortalised outside of his Ministry of Health announcements, having appeared in music videos, viral dance videos, remixes and even one lady's large leg tattoo.
The Trade Me auction closes 4pm Thursday.
