I could've gone my whole life without knowing this...

A young woman making her cruise ship debut has discovered some unwanted information about some x-rated, pineapple-related things that occur on cruise ships.

Going by @BlogionistaTravels on TikTok, she posted about how she had noticed the fruit adorning the doors of many of the cabins on the ship.

“When you’re on your first cruise and you see that everyone has these little cute pineapples on their door,” the text on the video reads as she shows some of the cute, ‘innocent’ decorations.

Commenters on the TikTok, which has attracted almost 12 million views and more than 800,000 likes, let her know the not-so-cute meaning behind the pineapples.

A couple people put it nicely, hinting at the real meaning without actually saying

“It means drop-ins are most welcome… and bring friends 😏😂,” said one.

“They want to be friends. Good friends. 🍍😂🥰,” another commented.

“Aww you should knock and say hi. I bet they really friendly… 🤣🤣🤣,”one more wrote.

Finally, a couple of people spelt it out for her nice and simple.

“It’s 2022 and ppl still don’t know that an upside-down pineapple represents a swinger… 😳,” one commented, spilling the beans.

“Getting to the swing of things,” one more said.

Earlier in the year, Cruise Mummy posted an explanation on what the upside-down pineapple means.

“Pineapples are used as a secret way for swingers to identify each other,” they wrote.

“If you see an upside-down pineapple on a cruise cabin door, it means that the people inside are actively searching for a swinging party,” they wrote.

However, pineapples aren’t just exclusive to sea-faring swingers, Cruise Mummy goes on to explain that on-land, pineapples are secret tip-of-the-hat to fellow swingers.

“Pineapples are used as a secret way for swingers to identify each other,” they wrote.

“If you see someone wearing an upside-down pineapple badge or pin, it means that they’re actively looking for a partner swap. An upside-down pineapple on someone’s front porch can be seen as an invitation to join a swinger party.”
