'I'm proud': Jilted Bride carries on wedding without groom after he left her at the altar

"I couldn't let the hard work that I put into this day and a good party go to waste.”

Your worst fear on your wedding day is the potential of being left standing at the altar. For one Welsh bride, this was a reality but the best part of it all is she continued on with the celebrations anyway.

Kayley Stead was unexpectedly ditched at the altar after her groom disappeared just hours before the wedding.

It wasn’t until the groom's dad rang and said that he wouldn’t be returning, that reality officially sank in.

Regardless, Kayley didn’t want her big and expensive bash to go to waste so she carried on, making it HER big day surrounded by her closest friends and family.

“The fact that everybody stayed meant more to me than anything else,” she said smiling about her loved ones.

“I just wanted to celebrate that. Celebrate my girls. I wanted it to be a day about women supporting women and supporting each other through the tough times.”

Kayley perfectly summed up the day in the caption of a TikTok video that she posted to remember her big day.

She began by putting it quite bluntly: “So I was a jilted bride and unfortunately sh*t things happen to people. Even though the day didn't go to plan, I couldn't let the hard work that I put into this day and a good party go to waste.”

“The day was filled with many laughs and a lot of tears,” she continued.

She added: ‘I'm proud of it so what can I say?”

If that isn’t the best turn of events, I don’t know what is!

Of course, she had to get her anger out, one way or another, So what better way to smash an issue head-on than literally smashing it with your bare hands?!

Kayley decided to let rip on the top layer of the cake as a big middle finger to the groom.
