It's no secret that women's bodies are incredible, but a new photo that has been posted online has proven another reason why they are just so amazing!

The photo features a woman in labour, and it has ultimately gone viral.

The picture reveals just how much the women's body bone structure can shift during birth to make way for the baby.

The image was shared by US centre Tangi Birth Services, and shows a woman bent over a hospital bed, with a clear bulge in the middle of her lower back. 

"That is the rhombus of Michaelis," the photo's caption explains. 

"During the second stage of labour, a combination of bones - including your sacrum - actually move backwards and in doing so, increases the diameter of your pelvis.

"This is what is known as the opening of the back."

The caption adds the shifting of the bones is "an integral part of physiological birth", as it allows the baby the maximum space to make their way out into the world. 

The post has gone viral with many woman very interested in seeing what was going on.
