Time to chuck out that old diffuser that's been gathering dust on the bathroom shelf since 2019: There's a new one-stop-shop for home fragrances in town.
After more than 20 years of selling candles, reed diffusers and other beaut home decor to our friends across the ditch, Dusk is opening three locations in Aotearoa. That's no match for the 115 stores they already have in Aus, but we'll take that as a sign they're pretty popular.
Shoppers at Westfield Manakau City already had a chance to experience the sweet aromas when Dusk opened there earlier this month, and there's a second Auckland location opening at Northwest Shopping centre soon. Plus, Welly gets in on the action with a store at Queensgate Shopping Centre opening on October 21.
Having a look at Dusk's Instagram and website, they really seem to have the bases covered. We're talking linen sprays, essential oils, every scented candle you could imagine (Sweet rockmelon? White magnolia and apple? That's a YES) and mood mist diffusers - whatever they are.
When it comes to candles, they've got the chic 5 wick kind right down to the novelty Halloween type. Want a decorative tray, glass plate or oil burner? This is the place.
Apparently, over 76% of Kiwis recently surveyed on the subject of lovely smelling stuff said they were in the market to buy new home fragrances, so the odds are pretty good on finding a gift for someone here.
Even for the person who already has too many candles for their own good, you can buy a set of rose gold candle care accessories, including a turbo lighter and wick trimmer. It's a little OTT, but we're here for it.
