Kate Hudson has revealed her very best inner beauty and skincare tricks, but there’s one kitchen staple that she swears by that might make you raise an eyebrow.
While beauty radiates on the outside, it all starts with what comes from within, and in this case, it’s what Kate has in her kitchen that makes all the difference.
The ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out’ actress owes all her thanks to something you may already have in your pantry - Olive Oil.
Kate swears that extra-virgin olive oil is the way to go, admitting to Elle that she uses it in more ways than you might think.
“For me, ya just drink it. Tablespoon, any kind of extra virgin olive oil. Even when I’m cooking, I know this sounds crazy, but I’ll put olive oil on my hands and I’ll use it and I’ll just wipe that on my face, and people are like? But you’re supposed to eat it, and I’m like no, it goes everywhere,” she said.
“It feels amazing. Just try it. Just put it on your skin and you’ll be like omg! You have all of these face oils and things…olive oil on your skin is amazing.”
I mean, rubbing it on my skin actually sounds pretty nice but drinking it? I don’t know if I can go that far.
Maybe she’s onto something though!
Drinking olive oil is an efficient way for your body to feed off the antioxidants and healthy fats present in the oil.
According to Healthline, “drinking it regularly may benefit your heart, bone, and digestive health and help stabilize your blood sugar levels,” although they suggest not exceeding 1-2 tablespoons per day.
Kate is all about gut health too, telling Elle in the same interview: “[I focus on] Gut health, gut health, gut health. I eat fermented food every day, sauerkraut, kimchi.”
Foods like yogurt, kimchi, sauerkraut and kombucha have been known to support digestive health by balancing bacteria in your gut.
