Disney Pixar is getting the band back together and is in the process of creating ‘Frozen 3’, ‘Toy Story 5’ and ‘Zootopia 2’.
It's some super exciting news for Pixar fans who loved the first instalments of the animated films - me being one of them!
What we know so far is that the films have all been greenlit by Disney CEO Bob Iger and are currently in the works.
“Today I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises,” Iger announced.
“We’ll have more to share about these productions soon…”
Although we don’t have much info on what to expect from each of the films, our fave voice actors have hinted that they may be returning.
Josh Gad who plays the hilarious and loveable Olaf in the Frozen film tweeted that he is excited to head back "into the unknown”.
Gad also joked with his buddy Jared Bush who co-wrote and directed ‘Zootopia’ suggesting that he call it the very fitting ‘2Topia’.
Although none of the characters has been confirmed to return for ‘Toy Story 5’, Tim Allen who voices Buzz Lightyear in all of the currently released films Tweeted a very promising hint that he could be making a return.
At this stage, we don’t know when the films will be released but it took a good five years for Frozen 2 and Toy Story 4 to hit the big screen after each of their announcements.
So if my math is correct, there’s a good chance we won’t be lining up with our popcorn until 2029.
Better warn the kids that I may be more excited than them when the films finally release!
