The Rise of the "Family Cloth": Is it Time to Ditch Traditional Toilet Paper?

This one could take some convincing but more and more people are ditching the classic toilet paper for ‘family cloth’

Have you ever heard of the term "family cloth"? Well, buckle in because this concept is either going to shock you or convince you.

Recently, a woman has stirred up quite a buzz online as she revealed that she has ditched the classic loo roll in favour of a homemade "family cloth".

TikToker @channonrose1 said that she was moving away from single-use toilet paper in favour of a homemade cloth that they chuck in the washing machine “with our regular clothes”.

Now we’re all for eco-lifestyle and reduce, reuse, recycle… but admittedly this one took us a bit more reading to wrap our heads around.

According to the TikToker, her family uses a bidet to do the heavy lifting before reaching for the cloth.

As it turns out, @channonrose1 is not the only person who has adopted this new type of toiletry. An increasing number of people are opting for sustainable and reusable alternatives, and this is one of them.

Let's face it, every mom knows how frequently we change rolls of toilet paper, especially since no one else seems to know how to do it. All that paper adds up, and using reusable cloths can be a cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution.

However, one commenter raised a valid question, "What about guests?" It turns out that there is still toilet paper available for guests who are not comfortable with using the cloth.

Perhaps it's time to rethink our use of single-use products and embrace more sustainable alternatives.
