Chuck out your expensive eye cream, Vaseline is the way to go now

Who needs a pricy pottle of cream when there's Vaseline

Say goodbye to expensive eye creams and hello to a budget-friendly alternative that has taken TikTok by storm. It's none other than good old Vaseline!

Many eye creams on the market can be quite expensive, often causing individuals to hesitate before purchasing.

While eye creams are often used to hydrate and plump up this area, apparently Vaseline can be just as effective in locking in moisture (and probably a lot kinder on our back pocket!).

Dr. Shah, widely known on TikTok as @DermDoctor, shared in a viral video his technique when it comes to the cheap alternative to eye creams.

In the video, Dr. Shah highlights the effectiveness of Vaseline as an occlusive moisturizer, sharing his personal experience while also offering a little word of caution.

Dr. Shah begins by explaining that pure Vaseline serves as a potent occlusive moisturizer, capable of preventing up to 99% of water loss during sleep. This unique property helps create a protective barrier on the skin, locking in moisture and aiding in hydration.

Dr. Shah reveals that he personally incorporates Vaseline into his own skincare routine as an eye cream hack.

“I apply a gentle moisturizer first, then I follow with Vaseline”

And people are agreeing with him! The video has already amassed over 2.3 million likes with people raving about the tip: “Using Vaseline and Aquaphor took five years off my age within a month”.

However, if you're prone to milia (those pesky tiny white spots) around your eyes, the Vaseline tip might not be cut out for you.

While technically non-comedogenic, meaning it shouldn't clog pores, some people may still experience issues with it.

If you're looking for an affordable and effective way to pamper your under-eye area, maybe just give Vaseline a try! It may just be the secret weapon you've been missing.
