Customers at an Australian restaurant were surprised to find a rude message on their receipt after a fairly standard request.
The customers had simply asked for a couple of ice cubes in their Pinot Grigio. While ice in wine is a no no for some, it’s a pretty normal request.
What they found when they got the receipt shocked them.
It appears some of the comments from the servers had made their way onto the docket.
The customers then took to Reddit to share the shocking line.
The receipt from The Cornish Arms in Victoria referred to the wine order as 'Terre Forti Pinot Grigio - ice in it f***n bogans',
Since the post has gone viral, the restaurant has apologized, stating that the comment did not align with their values, and the staff member responsible had apologized and been reprimanded.
"Her comment in no way reflects the values of The Cornish Arms and we will continue to educate and train staff to ensure the business evolves."
Despite some Reddit users supporting the staff member's sentiment, the general consensus was that incident unprofessional.
