People are saying this 30-second hack to revive old t-shirts 'should've been taught in schools'

Time to save a few old faves from the clothing donation bag!

Everyone has that favourite t-shirt they can't bear to part with, even though it's seen far better days.

Whether it's merch from the first time you saw your favourite artist live or one of those ones with a 'so-bad-it's-good' retro logo, a beloved tee is hard to find. Not to mention the rate kids and teenagers go through clothes in a cost of living crisis!

That's why it's such a pain when you're forced to chuck them - but there's a hack doing the rounds online that could help you hang on to the good ones for much longer.

To revive a t-shirt suffering from a case of stretched out neckline, it can be as simple as boiling it for a few seconds to get it back to its former glory.

According to a now-viral TikTok from OV Market, all you need to do is tie off a rubber band just below the neck of your t-shirt and dunk that part in boiling water for 30-seconds to a minute.

Take off the rubber band and let it dry flat and like magic, the neckline should be pretty much back to how it was when it was straight off the rack!

People are so impressed with the results, they're saying the hardest part of the whole process is finding a rubber band (surely everyone has a junk drawer full of them?). Others are saying the hack "should have been taught in schools".

And because it's the internet, a few people are asking if this trick works on socks and undies. We're all for a cost-saving tip, but boiling underpants feels like a step too far. Probably just time to fork out for a new pair, right?
