Your child could arrive to school with music and a delicious hot chocolate to start the day.
A Walking School Bus is like any other bus, but on foot. Walking School Buses allow tamariki to walk to/from school along a designated route, under the supervision of adult volunteers who act as the Walking School Bus ‘driver’. Children also learn about road safety as they walk and get some exercise in a fun and social way.
Nominate your schools walking school bus below and we could have some Blues players joining you on the journey.
About the Walking School Bus:
Auckland Transport’s Walking School Bus has many benefits for both children and volunteers. Tamariki enjoy meeting up and talking to their friends
and develop friendships while gaining a sense of independence and for volunteers, it’s a great opportunity to get to know families in your community.
The Walking School Bus helps make schools safer by reducing the congestion around the school gate.
