Late last week fans of James Corden's Carpool Karaoke were sent into a frenzy after a video appeared online showing the car in question being towed on a trailer.

James was filming a Carpool with Justin Bieber and was spotted by a fan. Online the reaction was huge, many people said they felt 'betrayed' but now the show's producer has chimed in on the scandal...

"Not true!" James' producer wrote on Twitter.

"We only use a rig when we are doing a 'stunt' as part of the Carpool - when it would impossible for James to drive! This has occurred only maybe 4 times in 50 or so carpools... Safety is key!"

So there we have it, the mystery has been solved straight from the horses mouth!

But it didn't end there, in true James fashion he had something to say himself... "Guys, we don't even use a real car!" he wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of him with Samuel L Jackson sitting in front of a 'blue screen'.
