WATCH: Bradley Walsh surprised by Olympian skier who famously brought him to tears of laughter

"This will not be beaten as the best TV moment of 2024."

In 2011, ‘The Chase’ host Bradley Walsh went viral for bursting into uncontrollable laughter while pronouncing an Austrian skier’s name: Fanny Chmelar.

Now, 13 years later, he finally met her in what fans already label as the unbeatable best TV moment of the year. In the middle of the night, Walsh was surprised by Michael McIntyre bursting into his bedroom to film a segment for his ‘Big Show’.

After answering a couple of questions, McIntrye asked the half-naked Walsh the same question that had the game show host cracking up over a decade ago. McIntrye then teases that Chemlar is in the house, saying he’s joking before actually bringing her into Walsh’s bedroom.

“I am so sorry,” Walsh says twice to Chmelar after the shock subsides. “I didn’t mean to laugh.”

“This is really surreal. This is the most surreal moment of my life. I am properly sweating. I am actually sweating. It’s lovely to meet you.”

After shaking hands, the host and skier go on to compete in a game of ‘Fanny’s Funny Schmells,’ which involves Chmelar taking items out of a chilly bin for Bradley to guess what they are just by sniffing them.

Fans who watched the segment are calling it one of the funniest TV moments not just of the year, but of all time.

“‘Bradley Walsh meeting Fanny Chmelar will not be beaten as the best TV moment of 2024,” one person wrote.

“Props to who's idea this was,” said another. “Funniest thing the BBC have done in years”

“THIS IS LEGENDARY!!!” a third added. “Damn near pissed myself laughing. The wife thinks I've gone off my rocker.”

It really is an incredible moment and insane that the Fanny Chmellar story has gone full circle, 13 years after we were all first introduced to her. Good on her and everyone involved for being a good sport and giving us all a laugh.
