Victoria Beckham has spoken out against a recently resurfaced 1999 interview that went viral, in which the presenter of a British television show weighed her on live TV.
In the video, Chris Evans, the host of the UK show 'Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush', grills the former Spice Girl about her post-pregnancy figure barely two months after she gave birth to her first child, Brooklyn.
In the clip, the host compliments Victoria, saying: "A lot of girls want to know because you look fantastic again, how did you get back to your shape after birth?”
Victoria explains her exercise regime and shuts down rumours that her famous footballer husband, David Beckham, helped her train.
The host then asks, "Is your weight back to normal? Can I check? Do you mind?" as he pulls out a set of scales.
"Oh no. This is horrible," she says, clearly uncomfortable.
Victoria then steps on the scales while Chris reads out her exact weight on national television.
Many people have called out the inexcusable moment online after it recently went viral.
Victoria has now spoken out about the incident, claiming that the piece would never have been thought or made it to air now.
In an interview with Vogue Australia, Victoria shared her experience: "I went on a TV show called 'Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush' with Chris Evans many years ago and I’d just had Brooklyn and lost a lot of weight."
No. But then again, there are a lot of things many people couldn’t imagine happening nowadays.
There’s still a lot of work to do.
Victoria went on to say that she has battled with seeing negative headlines about her weight throughout her career.
“I’ve had ‘Porky Posh’, I’ve had ‘Skeletal Posh’, after I had Brooklyn, there was a picture pointing to every single part of my body where I had to focus on losing the weight from.”
We hope stunts like this stay in the 90s where they belong - oh wait, they were terrible even back then too!
