She became a member of New York’s social elite, and left in handcuffs… and while not many people truly know her, everyone has an opinion on Anna Sorokin.
Sorokin - AKA Anna Delvey - is the subject of Netflix hit ‘Inventing Anna. Just last week she wrapped up a 17-month stint in jail for fraud, after blending in with the rich and famous and taking their money.
She’s back in her apartment in the Big Apple - this time wearing an ankle bracelet - while she fights against her deportation to Germany.
Sorokin told Today FM's Tova O'Brien that she is eager for a second chance and wants to turn over a new leaf.
"Well I think it's all about the second chances," said Sorokin.
"I feel like I've repaid my restitution and I've done my time, so why not?".
She has never seen the Netflix series she inspired and says some scenes are too fictional.
"I didn't watch it," said Sorokin.
"Also - it's not a documentary, the series was created for entertainment purposes. People should know how to take it - and for me, I already know the story."
