Wellingtonians are about to get a couple of new options for late-night entertainment with two new spots setting up shop in the CBD.
Archie Brothers, an arcade space with a bar, and Holey Moley, a mini-golf course with a bar, are coming to Willis Lane in the capital city, the spot formerly occupied by Taste On Willis.
The Holey Moley location will feature hole designs that have never before been seen in NZ. Themed holes like Skate or Golf, The Loop Hole and Triple Letter Fore, set on an extra large scrabble-inspired board, will be playable in Welly!
Funlab owns both Archie Brothers and Holey Moley, and their CEO Michael Schraber said that it’s only right Wellington get in on the fun since Christchurch and Auckland have had their fair share.
“After seeing the success of Holey Moley in both Auckland and Christchurch, launching in Wellington felt like an obvious decision,” he said.
“We were excited by Wellington as a vibrant city that is full of character, and we hope our two hit entertainment spaces can do their part in helping to revitalise the hospitality scene. Plus, everybody deserves a little fun!”

The dual entertainment venue is set to open to the public on July 27th. Both Archie Brothers and Holey Moley will run from 10 AM to late, and be strictly R18 from 8 PM.
If you’re not in the mood to get your arcade or mini-golf on, Willis Lane will also contain a few local vendors. Scott Pritchard, chief executive at Precinct Properties, hopes the rejuvenation of the spot will bring some spark back to the Wellington CBD.
“We’re looking forward to opening the new destination and showcasing some of the best local vendors and new-to-market concepts Wellington has to offer,” he said.
“Most importantly, we hope Willis Lane will breathe new life into the hospitality scene and get Wellingtonians excited about being out in the city again.”
Willis Lane has been closed for a while now, so it’s awesome to see it back up and running, especially when it contains literal fun for the whole family.
