Jay-Jay & Flynny are giving up some of their favourite clothes, in the name of fundraising and sustainable fashion!
Trade Me recently revealed that every New Zealander has, on average, about 7 pieces of unworn/unused items sitting in their closet - which leads to 11 million unworn clothing items across the country. The value of that would be approximately $300 million!
In the name of sustainable fashion, Trade Me is letting users sell within the Clothing & Fashion category for free on their platform until 11.59 pm on 26 February 2023. And Jay-Jay & Flynny are taking the chance to offer a couple of their favourite pieces and using the money to donate towards Red Cross NZ's Cyclone Gabrielle relief fund.
Flynny's favourite item that is up for auction is a limited edition Christmas shirt featuring the iconic Leonardo DiCaprio laughing - a scene that has popped up in many memes since it was featured in the Quentin Tarantino film 'Django Unchained'. It may not be Christmas - but it's still a limited edition tee where only 100 of these exist in the world.
Meanwhile, one of Jay-Jay's favourite tops up for auction, a sequined Sass & Bide mesh top, has only been worn a couple of times since 2016 - but it looks fabulous with jeans or skirts! And of course, as expected, the top is black, but has plenty of sparkle and dazzle included.
Auctions close this Friday (with free shipping!), and all funds raised will be donated to the MediaWorks Cyclone Relief for Red Cross.
