Kiwi comedian and ‘7 Days’ TV personality Paul Ego is returning to the More FM family and joining Lana & Adam on The Breakfast Club in 2023.
Paul shared that he is “stoked to join the team” next year, as our legendary Gary McCormick finishes up on More FM after 18 years and moves to Today FM in April.
“I’m looking very forward to not taking [Gary’s] place, because he’s irreplaceable, but to bring the Paul Ego humour to the show.”
Paul Ego’s radio career first started in the 2000s as a producer for More FM, working alongside the Auckland breakfast show Kim & Corbett for five years. Following that, he eventually left radio and moved to TV, starring on Three’s ‘7 Days’ comedy show.
“I found myself getting quite emotional, talking about coming back to More FM. It really does feel like a bit of a homecoming personally.”
Ego’s wife Janine and two sons Gabriel (23) and Isaac (17) were ecstatic when they heard the news that he would be coming back to More FM and joining Lana and Adam.
Especially Gabe who was 5 when Paul first started in radio and remembers his dad sneaking home a couple of gifts.
“He remembers all the radio days when I would bring home like movie tickets and stuff like that, so I think he's hoping that's going to happen again”
Next year is going to be a big year for the family in more than one way, with Janine and Paul set to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary after marrying in their early 20s.
