Mattel has just given us the best news since we found out ‘Barbie’ the movie was hitting cinemas.
I think we all have to agree that one of the most unique characters from the film (in more ways than one) was Weird Barbie, right?
Well, Mattel has just announced that we can get our hands on our very own Weird Barbie doll - one that looks EXACTLY like actress Kate McKinnon’s quirky character.
On August 4, Mattel unveiled the real-life version of Kate's iconic ‘Weird Barbie’ character, and it's already up for preorder!
She rocks a choppy platinum-blond pixie cut, neon green snakeskin boots, and the coolest part? Colourful marker scribbles all over her face.
She's a living tribute to all the Barbies that have been fiercely loved and played with maybe a little too much - you know, the chosen one.
In case you haven’t seen the movie yet - what are you doing? Director Greta Gerwig gives Weird Barbie the spotlight she deserves.
She's portrayed as the social outcast, breaking away from the cookie-cutter perfection of Barbie Land and doing her own thing.
While Mattel's version of Weird Barbie may be less chaotic than our own, she still carries that powerful influence. With her pastel highlights and limbs intact, she's the perfect mix of weird and wonderful.
If you do want to order a Weird Barbie you may be waiting a while ‘cause they're not expected to ship until May 31, 2024.
I guess that gives us more time to watch ‘Barbie’ over, and over, and over again! The hype will never stop.
No seriously, I think she’s gonna be the first addition to my new collection.
